Maha Shivaratri is a festival celebrated every year in reverence of Lord Shiva. Food was served for everyone in the village, our children and the elders were also invited.

According to a legend, Parvati performed tapas, prayed and meditated on this day to ward off any evil that might befall on her husband on the moonless night. Since then, Mahashivaratri is believed to be an auspicious occasion for women to pray for the well-being of their husbands and sons. An unmarried woman prays for her husband like Shiva, who is considered to be the ideal husband. Another legend of the day is that Shiva and Shakti married each other.

The Swedish camps that took place in the months of January to March was a great experience of cultures through meaning full field visits in the community. The success of our camps is plenty of hard work prior and after the camp. A good ground is laid for them to work peacefully and with full security. A wide variety of options were made available for their study on Religion, Caste system, water resources, Health issues, etc.

We appreciate all the students and teachers for their hard work in making the camps a great success. It has taken plenty of hard work also on the part of the visiting teachers and students who are exposed to the situations like heat, food, traffic, different noises, etc. The camp is a collaboration of both the cultures. They have experienced to know many other students of their age. Language would not have been a barrier they could have learnt and seen many things, which will be useful for their future. Out door experience was challenging on the hills, going down hill, trekking, watching water falls. Visiting national parks, the students enjoyed the stay in a hill slope hotel, etc.
