Our Journey
Our Journey
Infant Care
In our journey to uplift lives, we discovered that true empowerment comes not just from giving, but from teaching people how to create a sustainable future with their own hands. With this vision, our Vermiculture Manure Preparation Project was born.
We reached out to some of the most vulnerable in our communities—elderly individuals and women, often left behind in the race of life, yet holding immense strength and resilience within them. Nearly 30 to 40 of these determined souls came forward, ready to learn, ready to change.
Through patient training sessions held across Katchur village, Pondavakkam, Kalavai, Thiruvallur, and in and around Poondi block, they were introduced to the art of preparing rich, organic manure through vermiculture. For many, it was the very first time they realized that something as simple and natural as earthworms could open doors to income, dignity, and independence.
With the investments and resources we provided, they were not just handed tools—they were handed hope. Hope that they could earn a livelihood with their own hands. Hope that they could stand tall, contribute to their families, and walk with confidence in their communities.
Today, these elderly men and women are no longer silent sufferers of poverty. They are creators of life-giving manure, champions of sustainable farming, and symbols of resilience. Each handful of vermicompost they prepare is not just soil—it is the soil of self-reliance, the soil of dignity, and the soil of a brighter tomorrow.
This initiative has become more than just a project. It is a living testimony to how small seeds of training, care, and support can grow into forests of change. And with your support, many more such lives can be nurtured into flourishing with pride and independence.

Dairy Projects
Through our Dairy Projects, we witnessed how a simple act of care can completely transform lives. We took a two-fold approach to bring dignity, freedom, and livelihood into the hands of the underprivileged.
First, by distributing milk buffaloes and goats, we were able to place the power of self-reliance directly into families who had known only struggle and dependence. For nearly 60 families once trapped in the painful cycle of bonded labor, these gentle animals became more than just sources of milk—they became keys to freedom. With each drop of milk, these families began to taste dignity, independence, and the joy of standing tall on their own. Children who once saw their parents burdened in servitude could now dream of a different tomorrow, filled with hope and possibilities.
Second, we established our very own dairy farm, not as an institution, but as a living opportunity for the marginalized. The farm became a place of employment where individuals could earn with pride, working with care and love for the animals. What made this unique was that the income from the farm was not kept aside for the organization—it was given directly to the very families who took care of the cattle. For them, it was not just a wage; it was the recognition that their effort, their care, and their hands had true worth.
The dairy projects are not merely about livestock—they are about giving families back their voice, their strength, and their independence. A buffalo or goat may look simple, but in the hands of a struggling family, it becomes a source of nourishment, income, and above all. Every glass of milk is a silent story of freedom from bondage and a promise of a better tomorrow.
Piggery farm
As part of our income generation initiatives, we introduced the Piggery Farm project to support elders in need. Instead of living in dependency, they were given the chance to rear pigs, earn steadily, and regain.
This project not only provided food and income but also restored respect, confidence, and self-worth among the elders. Today, the families touched by this program continue to live with the fruits of that opportunity, proving that even the simplest act of support can create a lifetime of change.
Sericulture – Spinning Threads of Freedom and Dignity
In the quiet village of Kalavai, a project was born that carried the power to transform lives—Sericulture, an income-generation program aimed at some of the most vulnerable and forgotten sections of society.
This initiative was not just about rearing silkworms or producing silk; it was about weaving a new fabric of hope for women, especially those from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, and for families who had been trapped for generations in the cruel cycle of bonded labor.
For these women, life had always meant hardship, silence, and invisibility. Sericulture became their doorway to freedom. By learning the skills of silk rearing and production, they were able to stand tall, earn an income, and experience for the very first time the dignity of financial independence. Each cocoon they nurtured was not just silk—it was a symbol of resilience, courage, and newfound strength. The project created opportunities where none existed, restoring lost dreams and bringing respect back into their lives.
Export Tailoring & Hand Embroidery Centres
One of our most meaningful projects was the Export Tailoring Unit and Hand Embroidery Centre, created for single women, elderly women, acid attack survivors, persons with disabilities, and those who are deaf and mute.
For these women and men, life had been filled with struggles—poverty, rejection, and pain. Many were left without support, without income, and without dignity. Through this project, Share and Care offered them not just training and work, but a chance to rebuild their lives with pride. The steady sound of a sewing machine, the fine detailing of embroidery, and the patient weaving of fabric became pathways to confidence and independence.
Women Empowerment through Skill & Enterprise
At Share and Care, we believe that when a woman is empowered, an entire family and community rise with her. One of our most heartfelt initiatives was a women empowerment project that focused on giving women not just training, but the confidence to dream bigger.
Through personalized training programs, women many of them from marginalized communities were equipped with skills to design and craft leather footwear. What once seemed like an impossible dream slowly turned into a sustainable livelihood. With their own hands, they created products that carried not only quality but also the pride of self-reliance.
For women who had once felt dependent and voiceless, this project became a turning point. With the courage to start small businesses of their own, they began to contribute to their families, send their children to school, and most importantly, believe in themselves again.
